Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA)
EECA is the main body responsible for helping to deliver Government’s extensive energy efficiency agenda. Its function is to encourage, promote and support energy efficiency, energy conservation and the use of renewable energy sources. It has developed the New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy in conjunction with the Ministry for the Environment.

Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA)
The Electrical Apparatus Service Association Inc (EASA) is an international trade organisation of nearly 2,400 electromechanical sales and service firms in 56 countries. Through its many engineering and educational programmes, EASA provides members with a means of keeping up to date on materials, equipment and state-of-the-art technology.

Energy Rating
The energy rating website also serves as the main database for all MEPS appliances, including electric motors, available in New Zealand and Australia. The motor data base is accessible at: http://www.energyrating.gov.au/appsearch/motors.asp

Table B2, which provides the minimum efficiency levels for MEPS 2006 compliant motors (under test method B) is the most relevant. Table B3 applies to motors that claim “high efficiency”.
